Do you want your voice to be heard? Do you want the opportunity to highlight your community’s experience? Do you want the chance to showcase your filmmaking abilities? This festival can do all of that and shine a critical light on a social justice issue, too!
The Baird Point Film Festival, with guest speaker Poet Laureate Jillian Hanesworth, provides UB students a platform for expression, empowerment, and creativity to spotlight a social justice issue or experience they have a passion to explore. Offered by Student Engagement, the festival showcases student-submitted films surrounding the growth, learning, and diverse experiences that take place outside of the classroom and in the community through service work, critical reflection, and film-making.
